In 1921, he arrived in Providence, Rhode Island on the Brittania. His nearest relative where he left was his cousin Anto Francois at 16 St. Rene-Jean in Nice. He was joining his brother Pasquale at 238 Elizabeth. He intended to stay permanently. He was 5‘8” with black hair and chestnut eyes. He was 25 and a clerk.
He declared his intent to become a citizen in June of 1921.
In 1928, he filed a petition for citizenship. He lived at 264 Elizabeth St. He was 32 and had no children. His petition gives Josephine’s birthdate as January 25, 1896. Witnesses to his petition were Carmelo Livoti, expressman, and Peter J. Carydes, real estate, both of whom lived at 238 Elizabeth. Both said they’d known him since 1923.
He arrives on December 22, 1932 from Genoa on the SS Rex and goes to 264 Elizabeth St. He is 36.
