Arrived in the U.S. at 17. A shoemaker, unable to read and write, paid his own passage and has $10. Going to visit cousin Rosario Manfre. Traveling with Rosa Zodda, 26.

In 1920 (indexed as Daninick Davcco/Dominick Daveco), he lived with his wife Constance and daughters Rose and Anna in a rented apartment at 224 East 41 St. in Manhattan. He was 34, she was 32, and the girls were 4 and 2. He emigrated in 1901 and has filed papers; she emigrated in 1905 and is an alien. He is listed as speaking Irish and coming from Ireland; her native language is Norwegian. They can both read and write. He is a shoemaker in a shop; she doesn’t work.188

In 1930 , lived at the house he owned at 601 Tilden Ave. in Teaneck with his wife Constance and daughters Rose, Anna, and Florence. The house is valued at $7200, and they have a radio. Domenico is 46, Constance is 43, and the girls are 14, 12, and 8 (all born in New York). Domenico and Constance were 27 and 25 when they married. Domenico emigrated in 1901 (Constance in 1907), has filed for citizenship, speaks English, and is a shoemaker in the shoe industry. Her father is Swedish, mother Norwegian.189

In 1940, as Dominick, 54, he lived with his wife and daughter in a house he owned at 601 Tilden Avenue in Teaneck. The house was valued at $5,000. He had filed papers, had a 4th grade education, and earned $1,300 working as a custom shoemaker at a retail shoe store. Constance, 53, was naturalized and had completed four years of high school. Florence, 18, had also completed high school.

At 58, for his WWII draft registration, lived at 601 Tilden Ave. in Teaneck, NJ (phone 64245). Worked for Goldman and Leach at the Famous Bilt Shoe Co. at 425 5th Avenue in New York. His wife Constance is listed as the person who will always know his address. White, 5’10”, 175, black hair, brown eyes, dark complected. Other obvious physical characteristics: Pupil of right eye slightly different from normal left eye.190
