In 1855, on November 10, Israel Thayer of Dodge County, Wisconsin registered the purchase of land with the Mineral Point Land Office for “the West half of the South East quarter of section twenty-five in Township Ten, North of Range Five, West, in the District of Lands subject to sale at Mineral Point Wisconsin, containing Eighty Acres.”
