In 1885, he was 30 and lived in Cleveland with Ida, 22, Burdett, 4, and baby Ansal. Bertha,5, was down the street with her grandparents, the Robinsons.

In 1889, he was 34 and lived in Lincoln, Washington with Ida, 26, and kids Bertha, 9, and Burdett, 8. He worked as a foreman.

In 1900, he was 45 and lived with Ida, 36, Burdett, 19, John, 8, and Daniel, 6, in North Kittitas, along with his father-in-law John Robinson and a grandson, Charles Jones. He and Ida have been married 20 years and had 3 of 5 children survive.
