In 1920, she lived in a rented apartment at 335 Georgia with her huband Sam and children Jacob and Mary. Sam was 33 and Tilie 22, and they both arrived in 1906 but were still aliens. Sam works as a driver at a trucking company.

In 1930, as the Cohn family, they rented a place at 1821 Pitkin Avenue for $32. Sam was 45 and Tillie 33, and they married at 30 and 18. He says he arrived in 1925 has filed papers, and she in 1906 and is an alien. He works as a chauffeur at a trucking company. Jacob is 13, Mary 11, and Harold is 8.

In 1940, as Tillie Bernstein, she lived at 1826 Pitkin Avenue with her second husband, Charles Bernstein, and children Mary and Harold. They rented for $31, and had lived there in 1935 as well. She was 43, naturalized, and the highest grade completed was 8th. Charles, 62, was a naturalized citizen born in Russia, who had completed four years of college. He was a tailor at a clothing manufacturer, earning $1,040. Mary Cohen, 21, had finished high school and worked as a packer at a suspender company, earning $780. Harold Cohen, 18, had finished his junior year of high school and worked as a shipper at a dress company, bringing home $672.
