He was 16 when he arrived in 1914, headed for St. John’s, Ohio and his brother Robert. His passage was paid by his father.
In 1920, he was 22 and in the army at Camp Stanley in Bexar, Texas. He said he arrived in 1912 and filed papers in 1919.
In 1930, he lived at 4227 Francis Avenue in Seattle with his wife and her parents. Frank is 32 and Hannah is 35. They were married at 31 and 28. Frank, also from England, works as a painter in the building industry. He arrived in 1914 and is naturalized. Thomas was 69 and Emma was 72. He owned his house, which was valued at $4000, and had a radio. They married when he was 30 and she was 32. Thomas arrived in 1880, is naturalized, and works as a serviceman for the telephone company. Emma arrived in 1890 and is also naturalized.
At 35 in 1936, he declared his intent for citizenship. He was 5’7 1/2” and weighed 164, with auburn hair and gray eyes, and tattoos on both forearms. He lived at 4227 Francis Ave and worked as a painting contractor. He had filed a declaration for citizenship before, in 1928. He was born in Sandgate.
