Served in Company I, Fourth Minnesota Volunteer Infantry, under Captain J. H. Parker and Colonel John Sanborn.306 Mustered in at age ? on November 9, 1861 and mustered out July 19, 1865. He was discharged December 31, 1862 and re-enlisted January 1, 1864.309 The 1890 Veterans Schedule gives the dates of October 1, 1861 to August 19, 1865, for 3 years, 10 months, and 19 days. His disability incurred is a “kidney complaint, deaf in one ear.”310

In 1865, living in Elysian. There are no ages or relationships. There is merely George, Cordelia, Eliza, Edwin, Alfred, and Frank. Living near him is the Sly family (James and Betsey, and Betsey, William, Thomas and Margaret), and Sarah Watkins and (son?) James Watkins.311

In 1875, at age 37, lives with his wife Philena, 38, in Minnesota. His children are Emma, 15, Delbert, 8, Euletta, 7, Eva, 4, and Clista, 2. George was born in Ohio, his father in Virginia, and his mother in Ohio. Philena and her parents were born in New York. The kids were all born in Minnesota.227

In 1880, living in Cleveland. He is 41, she is 42, and their kids are Adalbert, 14, Ertella May, 12, and Louisa, 7. He’s a farmer. George and his parents were born in Ohio. Philena was born in Michigan, her parents in New York. Adelbert’s mother was born in Wisconsin.312

In 1895, age 57, living in Cleveland with his wife Philena, 58, and Eva Nancy, 11. He has been living in Minnesota and this district for 38 years and 8 months. He’s a carpenter and was a soldier in the ‘War of Rebellion.’ 313

In 1900, as George and Philena M Moler, living in Cleveland. He is 62 and she is 61. He gives his birthdate as September, 1837. They’ve been married 32 years and 3 of 6 children survived. He says he and his mother were born in Ohio and his father in Virginia. She was born in Michigan and her parents in New York. They own their own home, no mortgage.305

In 1905, as George R and Filena M, are living in Cleveland. He is 66, she is 67. He’s from Ohio, his father from Pennsylania, and his mother from Ohio. She was born in Michigan and both parents are from New York. They’ve lived in Minnesota 48 years and 4 months, and in this ED for 48 years and 2 months. George works as a farmer and carpenter and she works in the kitchen a home (or in a house?). He was in teh Civil War, and...Sola?314

In 1910, lived on Grover Street in North Lynden, Washington. He is 70, and his wife Philena is 71. They have been married 43 years; it is his second and her first marriage. They had 6 children, but only 2 survived. He was born in Ohio, his father in Virginia, and his mother in Ohio. She was born in Michigan, and both her parents were born in New York. George is a retired farmer, and owns his house, with a mortgage. He is a survivor of the Union Army. They live with/near his granddaughter Lula Mae and her family. Nearby, on Nooksack Ave, live his daughter Clista and her family. 91

In 1920, owned his house at 3308 S Ave. in Anacortes City free and clear. He’s 81, she’s 82. He and his parents were born in Ohio. She was born in Michigan and her parents are from New York. They live with their daughter Clista and her family. 315

Death certificate lists his parents as Alfred James and Nancy Wadkins. He was 82.
