In 1850, lived in Verona, Oneida, New York. His father was a farmer. His oldest brother was a carpenter.
In 1870, living in Lake Township, Newton, Indiana. He is 25, and a carpenter. Daniel Corkins, 27, also a carpenter, lives with him. They live with the Firth family.
In 1880, living in Bridge Creek, Augusta, Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He is 30, Addie is 27, and Maggie, Amy, and Anna are 9, 8, and 6. He is a farm laborer, and says that he, his wife, his parents, and their girls were born in New York. Her parents, brother and sister-in-law, also born in New York, and their children Alice, Maggie, and Cassa, born in Wisconsin, live nearby/in the same house.
322In 1890, he was living in Bridge Creek and on the veterans schedule for service with the 50th Regiment of New York Engineers. He enlisted Dec 30, 1863, and was discharged June 29, 1865. He has something ruptured, and piles.
On the 1895 Wisconsin census, he was on the Enumeration of Soldiers and Sailors. He lived in Bridge Creek. He served in the 50th Regiment, New York Engineers.
In 1910, living in Roeder Precinct in Whatcom County, no street name, with his wife Addie, 58, daughter Addie, 26, and son James R, 20. They have been married 40 years and had two other children who didn’t make it. He is 64 and works as a manufacturer of concrete with his son James. He says his father was born in Connecticut, his mother in New York, she says her father was born in New York and unknown for her mother. Addie and James R. were born in Wisconsin. There is also a 28-year-old Norwegian boarder named Lewis Markson living in the house. He came in 1903, is naturalized, and works as a laborer in a logging camp.
323In 1920, living on Bryant-Pilchuck Road. They own their home, and neither of them work. He is 75 and she is 68. She says both parents were born in New York, he says unknown but in the US.
324In 1930, he is 84, a widower, and lives with his daughter’s family on Verda Heights Road in Bryant. Now James says his father was born in Pennsylvania. James is a veteran of the Civil War. L. A. Markson (Louie) owns the home/farm. He is 47, Addie is 45, and they were married at 27 and 26. The kids are Albert, 19, Eva E., 17, Anna M., 15, Gene L., 8, Wilma J., 11, and Roy L., 4. All the kids were born in Washington, Addie in Wisconsin, and Louie in Norway. Louie arrived in 1889 and is naturalized. Louis works as a farmer. Albert works as a clockwoman (?) at a logging camp.
