Filed declaration (20733) for citizenship on May 22, 1911 at age 20. He was born March 17, 1891 in Brolo and emigrated from Palermo at 11 on the Tartar Prince, arriving on June 25, 1902, arriving July 5, 1902. He is a cigar maker and lives at 180 8th Street in Brooklyn. He is 5’8”, 152 lbs., white with a dark complexion, brown eyes and black hair. He filed a petition (18068) on December 29, 1915 when he was living at 45 Catherine Street in Brooklyn. It was witnessed by Philip Gorio? and Rocco Vincenzo.497

In 1918, he was 26 and lived at 365 94th Street in Brooklyn. He was born March 17, 1891 in Brolo. He is naturalized. He worked as a cigar maker for Fernandez and Somers(?), Co. at 333 Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn. He is single, supports his parents, and expects to be excused because his left leg is strained. He is medium height, medium build, brown eyes and dark hair.273

Married at 28 in 1922 at Our Lady of Loretto in Brooklyn, he was a cigar maker living at 365 94th St. He was born in Messina. The marriage affidavit/license (dated January 21) says Puglisi. The marriage certificate (dated February 12) says Pugliesi. The ceremony was performed by Father Thomas Sala and witnessed by Salvador Freschi and Lena Ferlazzo.282

In 1930, he was 35 and lived at 1573 West 4th Street in Brooklyn with his wife Kate, 30, brother Basilio, 40, sister-in-law Josephine, 32, and daughter Carmen, 2 11/12. Nunzio and Kate were married at 27 and 22. He and Basilio emigrated in 1902 and are naturalized; Josephine and Kate emigrated in 1904 and do not work. He works as a cigar maker in a factory. Basilio is a tailor in a clothing store. Nunzio owns the home, valued at $9,000. They have a radio. Basilio and Josephine were married at 32 and 24.498

In 1940, he lived at 1563 West 7th Street in Brooklyn with his family in a house they rented for $50. He was 48, naturalized, with an 8th grade education, and earned $2,500 as a blocker in women’s hats. Kate was 42 and also naturalized and had an 8th grade education. Carmen, 12, had finished 8th grade and Frank, 9, had finished 4th.

In 1942, he lived at 1563 W 7 Street in Brooklyn. He was 51 and born in Brolo on March 17, 1891. The person who will always know his address is his wife Kate at 1563 W 7 Street. He works for the Summit Hat Co. at 53 W 36 Street. He is 5’ 7 1/2” and 145 lbs., brown eyes, gray hair, and a sallow complexion.499
