Rosina came over with parents Antonio and Grazia in 1911, arriving January 20. Place of birth, Messina; last place of residence, Genova. They put “nobody” in the column labeled “name and address of nearest relative or friend in country whence alien came.”

The person they were visiting/staying with is listed by Antonio and Grazia as Pasquale LaManna of New York; no address and no relationship listed. Rosinor says *cousin* Pasquale LaManna of New York, still no address.

Rose is 4’ 8” with brown hair and eyes, Grazia 5’ with brown hair and eyes, and Antonio is 5’.

They were stamped “ADMITTED.”72

Manifests says she was born in 189072, census in 189540. SSDI says 1889.16

In 1930, living at 64 Paulison Avenue in Overpeck Township in Ridgfield Park, NJ. There have been three more children since the last census in 1920. Lists age at marriage as 18. Listed as naturalized. Not working.74

In 1940, living at 13 East Winant Avenue in Ridgefield Park with her family, where she had also lived in 1935, in a house she rented for $40. Born in Italy, she was 50, widowed, a naturalized citizen, and had only an 8th grade education. She did not work, but had another source of income. Living with her were her children Joseph B., 25, Anthony H., 24, William, 22, Marie, 20, Richard G., 18, and Roger A., 15. Joseph and Anthony were born in New York, the others in New Jersey. Joseph had finished high school and worked as a typist for the railroad, earning $988. Anthony had completed high school and worked as an assembler at an airplane plant, earning $940. William had completed high school and had been unemployed for six weeks, but had worked as a grocery clerk in a retail store, earning $250. Marie had graduated high school and been unemployed for 12 weeks; she is listed as a ‘new worker.’ Richard had completed 3 years of high school and worked as a laborer doing construction work for the US government in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Previously out of work for 39 weeks, he had earned $96. Roger had completed his first year of high school.
