Misc. Notes
On June 21, 1901, 50-year-old Pasquale LaManna and his son 17-year-old Giuseppe LaManna (names reversed), both sculptors, arrive in New York. ‘Pasquale’ has been to the US before, in 1897 in New York. They are on their way to 5 North Square in Boston to see their son- and brother-in-law, G? Militello.
On February 8, 1915, the deed to the property at Old Tappan is transferred from the widow Emma F. Sanders to Pasquale LaManna his cousins Pasquale and John Zappala for $5,500. Mrs. Sanders lives in South Nyack, Rockland County, NY and Pasquale, John, and Pasquale give their address as 1976 Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. The property is in Harrington Township, Bergen County and includes four lots at 15.310 acres (with a brook called Old Tappan Run), 2 woodlots at 3.757 acres, another lot at 4.4 acres (the same premises sold by Albert F. Haring to Abraham F. Haring in 1884) and another 8.119-acre lot. They paid $800 in cash and $4,400 was mortgaged.
38In 1918, as Pasquale LaManna, he lives at Old Tappan in Bergen. He is 34 and gives his birthday as Feb. 1, 1884. He is white, an alien declarant, and his serial number is 3541. He is a marble cutter working for James McLaren in Brooklyn (James McLaren & Sons, foot of Court Street). His nearest relative is Rosa Meo LaManna at the same address. Medium height, medium build, brown eyes, black hair.

74Odd: Now states year of immigration as 1910. Says age at first marriage was 18, which is how old Rose says she was as well -- but he’s older.
